Ah, you’ve been here for a few days! This is also your tour! You may already know perfectly the Castle Aquare Royal Castle Square or the Market Square where the iconic image of the mermaid is located; Perhaps you have walked next to the Barbican on several occasions, or it may be that you do not even remember the photographs you have taken of the Monument of the Uprising; however you are wondering, who is represented in that imposing column …
Why are people circling around a bell, how curious is a house that is very narrow in appearance, what illustrious characters linked to the city are remembered daily, what urban innovations have occurred in different times and circumstances, as well as the symbolism of a heroic act in the dramatic context of World War II and where Warsaw was turned into a desolate scene where finding a standing building was a difficult task.
We will answer all this and much more in the 2 hours Free walking tour in Warsaw or the 3 hours Low Cost tour.
Together we will walk through the most interesting places in the beautiful and pleasant historical center of Warsaw, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1980. We will be the witnesses of what many call: “The invincible city”.
Warsaw is a book that contains many pages in terms of history and is presented to visitors with a strong personality. In this tour that you cannot miss, we will start next to the tower that is described below in the meeting point section, tower by the way where in your free time we encourage you to go up to enjoy a beautiful view.
Warsaw; history, mystery and many curiosities
On the Free Walking Tour of Warsaw Old Town we will go back in time to the exciting local history, we will go on the trail of two famous people, Maria Skłodowska-Curie and Frederic Chopin; who were exceptional residents of this town. In addition, we will know about the legend of the mermaid; This is the one who carefully controls each one of the pedestrians that circulate through the Market Square from their privileged position.
Together we will discover the most notorious sites of the so-called Stare Miasto, surprisingly the harmony of the houses and the beautiful appearance of the buildings. As a surprise is the fact of visiting two different historical cities within the same tour. All in good time, you will understand what this question is about, which we could qualify as anecdotal.
Without straying too far, we will arrive at one of those places with a high dose of emotional charge that invite reflection. The monument to the Insurrection where we will ask ourselves up to what level of intensity can the human drama and the heroism of so many people reach who, at a clear disadvantage, appealed to the courage and the defense of their own.

The meeting point is in a very central place, a few steps from the Royal Castle. Specifically, we will meet next to the white tower on the popular Krakowskie Przedmiescie street, at number 68. It is the final section of this street before the intersection with the Castle Aquare. Remember that it is the whitish tower, and there the guide will be waiting with a white umbrella with a logo printed on it (a drawing of Sigismund’s column, with the castle tower in the background).
