Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of the well-known trails of Nepal. Mt. Manaslu (8163 m) itself is the world’s eighth highest mountain. This mountain lies in the western central part of Nepal.
Manaslu gives the meaning of “Mountain of Spirit” which is derived from a Sanskrit word.
About Manaslu Circuit Trek
Manaslu Region falls under a restricted area of Nepal hence you will require a special permit to enter this beautiful destination. This region trail has the power to offer you the culture and lifestyle experience of people which you cannot achieve in most of the popular destinations.
Manaslu Circuit has a vast climate which covers almost 6 climatic zones. Tropical, subtropical, temperate, sub-alpine zone, alpine zone, and artic zone. This climatic zone differs from elevation starting from 1000m-4500m+.
The mountains you witness in Manaslu Circuit Trek trails are Mt. Himalchuli (7893 m), Mt. Shringi (8187m), Mt. Langpo (6668 m), Mt. Manaslu (8163 m), and many peaks.
This region has many old monasteries made hundreds of years ago. This region is highly populated by Gurung people. Most of the youth are abroad as Gurkha Army. This region is very closed to Tibet hence it is influenced by Tibetan culture and tradition.
Manaslu Circuit Trekking trail is complete a circular trail of the Manaslu region. You will also have to cross one high pass called Larkya La Pass (5106 m). It is also considered as one of the longest passes of Nepal.
Since this region is kept highly protected under the Manaslu Conservation Area Project this trail has a very high possibility to encounter different fauna. It is because this region is less populated compared to the many trails of Nepal. Animals like Asian gray wolf, Himalayan musk deer, Blue Sheep, Himalayan Tahr, Himalayan ghoral, and different birds and the animal might be seen. This region was recorded home to 110 species of birds, 33 mammals, 11 butterflies, and 3 reptiles.
If you are lucky enough you may see highly endangered animals including Snow Leopard and Red Pandas.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1
Arrival Day in Kathmandu (The capital of Nepal)-1300m/4265 ft.
This day you will land at the Capital city of Nepal which is Kathmandu. The airport will be Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). You will be picked by the company representative and welcomed.
Providing you a flower garland made from Marigold. In Nepal, garlands are provided as a warm welcome gift and taken as good luck for further days. You are given a brief introduction and taken to Hotel via private vehicle.
As you arrive hotel you can get a nearby location map from the counter and can explore local shops or attraction points. You can also get gears for your trekking if you had missed any.

Day 2
Trek Preparation Day in Kathmandu
Today is a free day in Kathmandu. You can explore the local surrounding by yourself. You will be introduced to your respective Guide and other staff. Today you will have to check all the necessary gears that you will need for the trip. You will encounter plenty of gear shops nearby so, it will not be a problem if you miss any.
You will be given information about tomorrow’s flight time which is normally early in the morning.

Day 3
Drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola-710m (8-9 hours long)
Today will be a long day drive. Your drive will start from Kathmandu as you finish your morning breakfast. Your drive normally starts at 8 am. Until you arrive at a place called Dhading Besi the road are comfortable. As you drive forward you will be introduced to normal off-roads.
Your off-roads trail will be 2-3 hours long,.

Day 4
Trek from Soti Khola to Machha Khola- 900m (6-7 hours walk)
Your first-day trek in the Manaslu region of Nepal. Today your trail will be along the river. Machha Khola is a small village near the river bank. You will witness small villages of Gurung community people along your trail. Your trek will be 6-7 hours long with a gentle uphill climb.

Day 5
Trek from Machha Khola to Jagat-1410m (6-7 hours walk)
As you finish your breakfast your trek starts towards Jagat. Your trail will be through a light forest with a normal uphill. Today your elevation will be increased by around 500m. As previous day you will find yourself walking beside a huge rive well known by Buri-Gandaki river.

Day 6
Trek from Jagat to Deng-1804m (6-7 hours walk)
Today will be a long day trek. You will be introduced to Mt.Sringi (7177 m). You will find small villages and huge ridges on either side of your trail. Mules are highly used as transportation so it will be very common to you throughout your trial.
Your trial will be 6-7 hours long.

Day 7
Trek from Deng to Gyap- 2160 m (3-4 hours walk)
Since you have gained almost double elevation comparing to Soti Khola, today your trek will be short which will act as an acclimatization day. Although today will be a short trek you will have a harder climb. Today you will find waterfalls, small villages as well as a very old tradition and culture of Gyap people.

Day 8
Trek from Gyap to Namrung-2630 m (3-4 hours walk)
Namrung is a small village filled with Gurung people. On today’s trail, you will find crossing a beautiful river. You will encounter very old as well as newly made bridges. You can witness the diverse biodiversity of this region.

Day 9
Trek from Namrung to Samagaon-3530m (6-7 hours walk)
The previous two days you have a short trek which acts as a rest day or acclimatization. Today will be quite a long day walk. You will also be introduced to 7000m + mountain today.
As you reach Samagaon you can have a view of Mt. Manaslu N li (7050m), Manaslu North (6994 m), Samdo Peak (5177m), and Swelokhang (6180m).
Today your walk will be 6-7 hours walk across small villages and monasteries.

Day 10
Acclimatization day in Samagaon
Today will be a trek high and sleep low day. A complete acclimatization day. You will be taken to Pungyen Gompa; which is a very old monastery of this region and Birendra Tal; a glacial lake.
You will hike to these places and come back to Samagaon for an overnight stay.

Day 11
Trek from Samagaon to Samdo-3860 (4-5 hours walk)
Today we will climb normal uphill. You will experience yourself how the vegetation has changed. You will see on small shrubs and total absence of huge tree like you had before.
Today you will witness close view of Samdo Peak (5177 m), Mt. Himalchuli (7893 m), hills covered with snow, and some small peaks.

Day 12
Trek from Samdo to Dharamsala/ Larkya Base Camp- 4460m (4-5 hours walk)
As you finish your breakfast you will trek to Larkya B.C/ Bimthang. The trail will be be uphill climb. You will find some hotels at Dharmasala. Today your trek will be 4-5 hours walk. You will have view of Larkya Peak (6249m)

Day 13
Larkya Pass Day- Trek from Dharamsala to Bimthang crossing the pass (8-9 hours)
Today will be an adventurous day. You will have to leave Bimthang early in the morning. Taking chocolates and high pass power biscuits with you is highly recommended. The highest elevation of Larkya Pass is 5160m.
You will have clear close view of Mt. Himlung (7126m), Nimjung (7140m), Gyaji Kang (7038 m), Samdo Peak (5177 m), and Chombi (6704 m) with many small peaks around. As you cross the pass you will be introduced to steep downhill climb.

Day 14
Trek from Bimthang to Tiliche-2300m (5-6 hours walk)
Today after the breakfast you will descend down towards Tilije. Your trails will be normal downhill introducing you to forest and rivers again. Today your walk will be 5-6 hours walk.

Day 15
Trek back from Tiliche to Dharapani -1860m (5-6 hours walk)
Today we will enter into Annapurna Conservation Area. Dharapani falls into Annapurna region. Your trek will be 4-5 hours long. Dharapani is also the location from where you start Nepal’s one of the best trekking trail called Annapurna Circuit Trek.

Day 16
Drive from Dharapani to Kathmandu via Besisahar
After an early morning breakfast, you will take a drive from Dharapani to Kathmandu. The trails to Besisahar is mostly off road. You will see small villages and waterfalls along your trail.
After around 7 hours of drive you will arrive at Kathmandu.

Day 17
Free Day in Kathmandu
Today is a free day in Kathmandu. You can either rest or explore the UNESCO World Heritage Sites which are inside Kathmandu valley. Many of the travelers use this day as a shopping day for their family and friends taking memories of Nepal.

Day 18
Final Departure
Today the company representative will be at your hotel to drop you off at the Airport at your designated flight time. You will be honored with a Buddhist traditional scarf; Kha-Ta. It is a scarf where prayers are written in the Tibetan language. These prayers are for the best of luck, peace, long life, and harmony to everyone.
You are also handed an achievement certificate of Annapurna Base Camp Trek.
