About New Julfa
Established by Shah Abbas from Safavid Dynasty, about 150 thousand Armenians moved to Isfahan after that they was forced to exode from Old Julfa in Azerbaijan escaping from Ottoman Empire’s persecution.
Julfa town is famous for its churches, museums and typical Armenian cafes, walking in New Julfa you will feel like if you were tele transported to Armenia.
Armenian and Muslims are living in Julfa for more than 400 years, symbol of tolerance in a very strict Muslim country, visitor will find a mixed cultural combination in the beautiful Julfa town.

A masterpiece in architecture, inside the cathedral we can see a combination of Armenian and Islamic architecture.
The Vank cathedral has unique frescoes and tile works, also, in the museum of the cathedral, we will learn more about Armenian cultures.
Also known as holly Bedkhem church; located in Armenian town of Isfahan, this church was built by a well-known Armenian merchant named Khaje Petros.
Decorations and frescoes are notable between sixteen churches of the new Julfa town.
