About Everest Base Camp & Gokyo Lake Trek
Those destinations are separated by a high pass which is known as Chola Pass. Chola Pass has an elevation of 5420m. This trekking trail is completely a perfect Everest Trek.
This trail helps to take over the major drawback of Everest Base Camp Trek; which is travelers do not enjoy returning the same way used to climb. With this trail, you return completely a new path visiting an amazing Gokyo Valley.
In this trek, you will come across an adventurous flight to Lukla, suspension bridges, old and historic Buddhist monastery (Tengboche), the Base of the world Highest Mountain Mtn. Everest, Nepal’s longest Glacier; Ngozumba Glacier, and breathtaking mountains such as Mtn. Everest, Mtn. Cho Oyu, Mtn. Amadablam, Mtn.Lhotse, Mtn.Cholatse and many more.
The trails are normal with mostly uphill slope. The only challenge is the pass. You will come over the rocky and frozen iced pass; Chola Pass. As said the best view comes after the hardest climb you will find an amazing view from the top of the Pass. A 360-degree mountain of the Everest region can be observed.
The major viewpoints are Everest Base Camp, Chola pass peak, and Gokyo Ri.
About Goyko Lake:
Located in Nepal’s Sagarmatha National Park; it is world’s highest freshwater lake system, between 4,700–5,000 m (15,400–16,400 ft) above sea level. In the total o the lakes system, theres are 6 main lakes.
For the Hindus and Buddhists; the lakes are considered sacred places. Of the highlights of the year, it is the month of August when the festival of Janai Purnima is celebrated, when about 500 Hindus usually take a sacred bath in its waters.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1
Arrival Day in Kathmandu (The capital of Nepal)-1300m/4265 ft.
This day you will land at the Capital city of Nepal which is Kathmandu. The airport will be Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). You will be picked by the company representative and welcomed.
Providing you a flower garland made from Marigold. In Nepal, garlands are provided as a warm welcome gift and taken as good luck for further days. You are given a brief introduction and taken to Hotel via private vehicle.
As you arrive hotel you can get a nearby location map from the counter and can explore local shops or attraction points. You can also get gears for your trekking if you had missed any.

Day 2
Trek Preparation Day
Today is a free day in Kathmandu. You can explore the local surrounding by yourself. You will be introduced to your respective Guide and other staff. Today you will have to check all the necessary gears that you will need for the trip. You will encounter plenty of gear shops nearby so, it will not be a problem if you miss any.
You will be given information about tomorrow’s flight time which is normally early in the morning.

Day 3
Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla- 2800m and trek to Phakding-2652m (3-4 hours walk)
Most of the time the flight to Lukla starts early in the morning. You will be picked by the guide in the morning from Hotel and taken to the airport for a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla.
You will witness a breathtaking aerial view of sunrise over the Himalayas and many small villages. If the weather gets clear this 35-minute flight will finish in no time and your trek will surely be overwhelmed.
Aa you arrive Lukla we will either have breakfast/lunch depending upon the arrival and start our trek towards Phakding. Phakding is around 200m less elevation than Lukla.
Since today is the first day, we will have a very easy and starter trek which will be 3-4 hours long.

Day 4
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar- 3440m (5-6 hours walk)
You will be given a wake-up call early in the morning. The morning wake-up call and breakfast time will almost be the same throughout the Trek. By 8 am every day you will finish your breakfast and necessary packings for the day and start the ascend.
This day will be quite harder than the previous day. We will trek to a place called Namche Bazar which used to be a big trade center in earlier years. Today you will be trekking along the river and will encounter almost 5-6 bridges.
The trail is almost all uphill between the pine forest. Today your trek will be 5-6 hours long.

Day 5
Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
Acclimatization days are also taken as a free day or rest day. This day is especially kept to acclimatize your body with the surrounding altitude and temperature. Although acclimatization day seems to extend the trip, It is very important and helps you to complete your climb up 5545m high keeping you away from altitude sickness.
This day is also known as Trek high and sleep low. You will be taken to hike at Everest View Point from where you will have the first sight of Mtn. Everest including many mountains like Mtn. Thamserku, Mtn. Konde, Mtn.Khangtega, Mtn. Amadablam and many peaks can be seen.
You will be back in Namche Bazar for lunch and have a free day there.

Day 6
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Debuche – 3820 m / 12,533 ft (6-7 hours walk)
Finishing our daily morning routine, we will head towards Debuche. We will climb the Namche Hill and then have a gentle sloppy trial. Today you will have a combination of both ascend and descend the trail.
Today’s Major attraction is a huge Buddhist Monastery in the lap of the Himalayas. This place will surely stop you for a while and let you get mesmerized by nature. The monastery is named Tengboche Monastery which is a very devoted and spiritual place for all the Buddhist people living in this region. It is also the last point of the Everest Panorama Trek.
We will cross over the monastery and walk an hour or two long and reach a place call Debuche at an elevation of 3820m. Your trek will be 6-7 hours long.

Day 7
Trek from Debuche to Dingboche- 4410m/14469 ft (5-6 hours walk)
As always, our trek will start early in the morning. You have entered into higher altitude and definitely, you will feel thin air and surroundings plants also get thinner and dwarf.
Today your trail will be normal uphill. We will Trek slowly towards Debuche which is 5-6 hours long Trek.

Day 8
Acclimatization in Dingbuche
Today you will have a similar extra day you had earlier in Namche Bazaar. You can explore the Sherpa Village of Debuche and also Hike to nearby hills and return for lunch.

Day 9
Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche- 4910m (5-6 hours walk)
Lobuche is a small village elevated at 4910m. The trail is not very difficult. You will have a normal uphill Trek with gentle slopes. Today you have a major attraction. A memorial spot where small rocky stupas are made for the remembrance of all the Sherpa’s and climber who have lost their lives in the Everest Expedition.
Today including all the mention mountains, you can see Mtn.Tobuche, Mtn. Pumori, Mtn. Chhumbu, and Mtn. Cholatse. Your trek will be normally 5-6 hours long.

Day 10
Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp-5364m via Gorakshep-5170m 7-8 hours Trek
Today you will reach your final Destination Mtn. Everest’s Base Camp. Today we will trek towards Gorakshep to have our lunch. As we reach Gorakshep we will rest our bags and other things at Gorakshep hotel and head to Everest Base Camp.
You will have a breathtaking view of Mtn. Lingtren, Mtn.Khumbutse, Khumbu Glacier Mtn. Changtse, Mtn. Everest, and Mtn. Nuptse.
You can spend quality time there capturing the memories to take back to your place. After a while, we will trek back to Gorakshep and enjoy for our successful Trek.

Day 11
Morning hike to Kalapathar-5545m and trek to Zhongla-4200m (5-6 hours walk)
Kalapathar is a beautiful spot from where you will have a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the Everest Region Mountain range. It is a short hike from Gorakshep. It is an optional destination. You will have to climb without having breakfast and come back to Gorakshep for breakfast.
We will then trek towards Zhongla. Today our trek will be around 5-6 hours long.

Day 12
Trek from Zongla to Taknak-4680m via Chola Pass-5420m (6-7 hours walk)
Today we will head towards the Chola Pass early in the morning. The trail will be rocky and frozen by ice if the temperature is very low depending upon the previous day weather.
As you climb the Chola Pass you can view an amazing panoramic view of the Himalayas with Buddhist prayer flags at the top. Carrying power snacks such as chocolates and biscuits with you will help you a lot.
We will then descend towards Taknak after the pass. Today’s trek will be 6-7 hours long.

Day 13
Trek from Taknak to Gokyo Valley- 5360m / 17585 ft (5-6 hours walk)
Today as you finish your daily morning routine you will head towards another beautiful destination located at the bank of a dark blue lake called Gokyo Lake. You will also encounter Nepal’s longest glacier; Ngozumba Glacier.
To reach Gokyo valley you will need 5-6 hours of walk.

Day 14
Climb Gokyo-Ri-5257m and Trek to Dhole-4150m (5-6 hours walk)
Today we will climb Gokyo-Ri early In the morning. The view from the top will be one of the best so far. You can spend some time capturing the sunrise and breathtaking view of the Himalayas with a small village, lake, and glacier.
We will then descend and head towards Dhole which is elevated at 4150m. Your today’s trek will be 5-6 hours long.

Day 15
Trek from Dhole to Namche Bazaar (6-7 hours walk)
As we finish our breakfast we will slowly come down to Namche. You will witness small villages and farms along the way.
Today walk will be 6-7 hours long.

Day 16
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (6-7 hours walk)
Today is the last day of Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Valley lake Trek. We will trek down to Lukla which will be around 6-7 hours trek. As we reach there we will meet and greet will all the members who have made this memorable trip possible. We will then prepare for the next day’s flight back to Kathmandu.

Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
Today you will have a flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. You will be picked at the airport by the Company representative. Today you can freshen up yourself after a long and a lifer time memorable trek. You can explore if you have free time and also make shopping for your family as a memory from Nepal.

Day 18
Free Day in Kathmandu
This day is kept as a free day / extra day. Due to unfavorable weather sometimes, the flight might get delayed or canceled from Lukla. To recover the delayed time this day is kept as a backup. If everything goes as planned you can use this extra day to explore UNESCO world heritage sites in the Kathmandu valley.
You will be invited to a farewell dinner by the company.

Day 19
Final Departure
Today the company representative will be at your hotel to drop you off at the Airport at your designated flight time. You will be honored with a Buddhist traditional scarf; Kha-Ta. It is a scarf where prayers are written in the Tibetan language. These prayers are for the best of luck, peace, long life, and harmony to everyone.
You are also handed an achievement certificate of Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Valley Trek.
With a hope to see you again in this lovely country, a warm namaste, and wave sending you beautiful memories.
